TEHRAN -- Iranian guardians of manuscripts were honored at the 8th Ceremony of Manuscripts Supporters on Wednesday which took place at the Majlis Library venue.

Ahmad Jalali, head of the Majlis library, museum, and documents, Abdolhossein Haeri and Mir-Hashem Mohades Ormavi participated in the event.
Jalali first made a short speech at the ceremony saying that the preservation of Iranian and Islamic manuscripts helps to strengthen and keep alive national memory and awareness.
Tribute was then paid to the late Mir-Jalaleddin Mohades Ormavi, proofreader and restorer of valuable manuscripts written by Shia writers.
Abdolhossein Haeri also made a short speech paying respects to the late Mohades Ormavi.
Mahmud Fazeli Yazdi Motlaq was awarded in the donators of manuscripts section.
Ali Ravaqi and Zoleikha Azimi shared the best Persian literature section award.
In the philosophy and wisdom section, Najafqoli Habibi was awarded.
The awards for the best theses went to Safieh Moradkhani and Alireza Naseri Malvani.
The award for the best TV program went to producer Mohammad Sha’shaei for the program “The Stars”.
Producer Hamidreza Purmohammad-Ali won the best radio program award for “Emperor’s Library”.
Hamid Malekian won the best periodical award for the magazine “Pajuhesh”.
In the restoration section, the award went to the Astan-e Qods Library in Mashhad.
The publisher of Iran’s Wisdom and Philosophy Publication won the best publication award
