TEHRAN - Escalation of tensions and conflicts in Lebanon is in the Zionist regime’s best interests, international affairs analyst Mohammad-Mahdi Mazaheri said here on Monday.

“Israel seeks to undermine Lebanon’s security and stability through fueling internal conflicts in the country and supporting the ruling system, so that it can prepare the ground for its military and economic presence in Lebanon,” Mazaheri told the Mehr News Agency.
If the recent unrest in Lebanon would not be controlled, it can pose a serious threat to the region, he said.
“It is necessary that all Arab and Islamic states... use their political and religious influence in the country and invite the Lebanese groups to return to the negotiation table and avoid discords,” he added
