TEHRAN --Iranian beach handball team earned its first victory on Friday night against Uruguay after disappointing results in the 3rd Men's Beach Handball World Championships in Cadiz, Spain.

Iran beat Uruguay 2-0 (16-14, 12-11) however failed to qualify for the semi-final round.
The team was already beaten by Russia, Hungary, Serbia and Croatia.
Altogether 12 teams participate in the championship in two groups and the top two teams from each group will find themselves in the semi-final
