IAF to host Shakibaii photo exhibit

TEHRAN – A photo exhibit featuring the late actor Khosro Shakibaii is to open on Saturday at the Iranian Artists Forum (IAF).
Ahmad Ahmadi, Babak Borzuyeh, Amir Abedi and Behruz Sadeqi are among the photographers whose collection of photos taken from Shakibaii’s movies will be put on display for a week.
Iran’s cinema actor Shakibaii died of a heart attack on July 18 in a Tehran hospital. He was 64.
Literature Center to review poetry of France
TEHRAN -- The Iranian Literature Center is to review the poetry of France in its third World Poetry Session for two days on August 31 and September 7.
Expert translator Mohammadreza Parsayar will give a lecture on French poetry covering the beginning era until modern time during the sessions at the venue, which is located at No. 31 Ardalan St. off Mofatteh Ave.
Iran, Tajikistan to grant filmmakers joint award
TEHRAN -- The Didar Film Festival, which is annually held in Dushanbe, plans to award the best film winner a prize that will be jointly granted by Iran and Tajikistan.
The decision was made based on an agreement recently signed between the festival director Safar Haqdadov and Iran’s Cinéma Vérité Festival director Mohammad Afarideh.
The two also agreed to hold cultural weeks in Tehran and Dushanbe, to help strengthen cinema of Persian-speaking countries and to hold short-term courses of filmmaking for Tajik filmmakers in the capital Dushanbe..
