TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Croatian Ambassador to Tehran Esad Prohic said here Wednesday that Iran's nuclear issue should be resolved through dialogue.

It is the legitimate right of Iran to benefit from peaceful nuclear energy, he said.
According to the Information and Media Department of Majlis, Prohic made the remarks in a meeting with the Head of Iran-Croatia parliamentary friendship group Heshmatollah Falahat Pisheh on Wednesday.
Expressing satisfaction with the current level of ties between the two countries, Falahat Pisheh said there are ample untapped potentials in both countries which could be used to bolster and consolidate bilateral ties.
Leaders of both countries are determined to expand economic, cultural and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries, he said.
Since the imposition of economic sanctions against Iran, the volume of trade between Iran and Croatia has increased four-fold, he said.
The Croatian ambassador, for his part, said that Iran is among the members of the IAEA and abides to the provisions of the NPT, he said.
It is the legitimate right of Tehran to take advantage of peaceful nuclear energy and the issue would be resolved through dialogue, he said.
It is not possible to ignore Iran's significant role in international developments, he said adding that earlier sanctions against the country have failed.
Highlighting the significant role of Iran in regional and global developments, he said that the country has played vital role in resolving many regional disputes such as those in Iraq, Palestine, Lebanon and Afghanistan and this cannot be ignored.
Referring to cultural and historical commonalties, he called for expansion of cultural relations between the two countries.
