TEHRAN -- Over the past three years, there have been only 63 days of clean air in Tehran according to a recent study by the Health Ministry.

There were over 1023 days of heavy air pollution between March 2005 and March 2007, the report said.
In Iranian calendar year 1384 (began March 21, 2005), Tehran experienced 348 days of heavily polluted air, and in 1385 (began March 21, 2006) there were about 330 days of heavy pollution in the city.
Approximately 800,000 people around the world die annually due to air pollution. And in Tehran, many people are hospitalized every day because of the air pollution.
