Tribeca festival to screen “About Elly”

TEHRAN -- Asghar Farhadi’s “About Elly” will go on screen at the Tribeca Film Festival which will be held from April 22 to May 3 in Manhattan.
The film will be screened at the World Narrative Feature Films Section of the festival. Farhadi won a Silver Bear for the best director for the film at the Berlinale 2009.
Iranian author invited to Armenia
TEHRAN -- The Armenian Writers Association invited the Iranian author of “Little Star” Mohammadreza Yusefi to Yerevan.
His book, which is for children, was translated into Armenian and has been published recently. It is about a lonely star in the sky that searches for a friend.
Niavaran to host flamenco concerts
TEHRAN -- The Niavaran Cultural Center will host a series of flamenco concerts on March 12 and 13.
Masud Amiri, Mohsen Hosseinnejad, Maziar Khajian, Mehrdad Alizadeh and Kurosh Maqari will perform pieces composed by renowned flamenco musicians including Paco Peña, Sabicas and Niño Ricardo during the concerts.
London gallery showcasing Iranian women’s artworks
TEHRAN -- The Mall Galleries in London is playing host a group art exhibition by Iranian women entitled “The Masques of Shahrazad.”
The exhibit brings together 28 Iranian women from three different generations who depict artistic Iranian landscapes of the last three decades.
The showcase will run until March 21.
Children to hold painting exhibition in Tehran
TEHRAN -- A group painting exhibition by Iranian children will be held at Gallery No.2 of the Niavaran Cultural Center.
Some 43 paintings created by 19 children artists will go on display during the exhibit that is organized by Surin Daneshmanesh.
The exhibit will run on March 11 and 12..
