$12b to be invested in 10 petrochemical projects

TEHRAN -– Iran’s deputy oil minister stated here on Friday that 10 petrochemical projects worth $12 billion will go on stream by the end of current Iranian calendar year (started March 21).

According to the Mehr News Agency, on the sidelines of 14th International Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Exhibition, Adel Nejad Salim said that Iran’s petrochemical output in the last calendar year touched 27.1 million tons, an 18 percent growth over the figure of its previous year.
The official added that the exports of the petrochemical output accounted for 30 percent of the country’s total exports.
He predicted the country’s petrochemical output to reach 39 million tons in the current Iranian calendar year.
He said that South Africa, Turkey, India, and Venezuela will take part in the country’s new projects
