TEHRAN (IRNA) - Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi said on Wednesday that illegal, interfering and adventurist remarks by certain western officials on Iran’s 10th presidential elections are ‘intolerable’.

Speaking to IRNA, he said the ambassadors of some of European countries were summoned to Iran’s Foreign Ministry to hear Iran’s protest to this effect.
“Since the Guardians Council is now investigating the complaints lodged by some candidates, it would be against international norms to make such interfering allegations,” he said.
In every country there is a legal procedure to deal with complains about voting conduct, he said adding that such a mechanism exits in Iran as well and there is no room for interfering remarks by western officials, he said.
The officials of western countries had better prevent the unlawful protests being staged outside Iranian embassies in their countries, he said.
It is a discriminatory outlook that these countries instead of seriously dealing with illegal gatherings and protests in their countries, cry out in support of such gatherings in Iran, he pointed out.
All presidential candidates are parts of the unified nation of Iran, he said.
“In our opinions the allegations made by some officials in western countries are regarded as instances of interference and reminiscence of the era of colonialism, “Qashqavi said.
