TEHRAN – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said that Iran and Indonesia should promote constructive cooperation in the campaign against nuclear weapons.

“The two countries can have constructive and efficient cooperation in campaign against nuclear weapons and establish new global order,” he said in a meeting with Indonesian Foreign Minister Raden Mohammad Marty Muliana Natalegawa here on Sunday.
Ahmadinejad added that Iran and Indonesia share common views on global issues and it is an opportunity for close cooperation in the international stage.
He also pointed out that campaign for elimination of nuclear armaments can be one of the main areas for cooperation.
The nuclear weapons are a threat to the entire world and as the proliferation of such weapons are source of concern for a majority of countries, joint efforts for wiping out nuclear arsenals is absolutely essential, he noted.
The Indonesian foreign minister, for his part, stated that his country shares the same view on the necessity of cooperation for elimination of nuclear weapons
