TEHRAN – The Sri Lanka Mass Media Foundation (SMMF) has selected the Tehran Times as the best news website in Asia in 2010.

The foundation selected Iran’s leading international daily to receive the “Best News Web Site of the Year” award at its fourth annual ceremony.
The Tehran Times along with the Asian Tribune won the foundation’s top awards in the category of the “Best News Web Sites of the Year”.
Sponsored by Media Village, the award ceremony was held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on December 27, 2010.
Attended by a group of cineastes, writers, critics and media from 44 Asian countries, the ceremony also honored 21 bests in 21 other categories.
Television Highlight of the Year, Radio Highlight of the Year, Print Media Highlight of the Year, Best Magazine of the Year, Best News Anchor of the Year, Best News Program of the Year, Best Journalist of the Year, Best News Paper Editor of the Year, Best Media Critic of the Year, Best Reality Program of the Year, Best Film Director of the Year, Best Media All Rounder of the Year, were among other categories of awards.
The first, second, and the third award ceremony of the Sri Lanka Mass Media Foundation were respectively held in 2006, 2007, and 2008.
