TEHRAN - Head of the Mental Health of Shahid Beheshti Medical University says heavy abuse of crystal meth causes cardiac arrest.
In an interview with Fars News, Seyed Saiid Sadr stated the fact that most persons who use crystal meth fail to quit, is because first they experience a transient ecstasy and this feeling drives them to keep taking it.Drug user seeks the same initial feeling and in order to achieve that degree of feeling he uses larger doses and this keeps rising, he explained.
On the other hand if they do not use the drug, they will feel lassitude and weariness and this makes them to turn to it again, Sadr added.
Dr. Sadr added if a person can overcome this lassitude period through psychiatric treatments and energetic medicines which enhance his mental situation, he can quit addiction.
He said there have also been reports of death due to use of meth in which person voluntarily put himself at a great danger or gets involved in a quarrel.
