Iran’s only professional Hossein Vafaei qualified for the final stages of a ranking event for the first time.

The Australian Goldfields Open is the first world ranking event of the 2015/16 season which takes place from June 29 to July 5.

The event will be held in Bendigo in the beautiful Goldfields region of Victoria, around three hours drive from Melbourne.

Visa problems prevented Vafaei from playing in the UK until this year, but he is now able to compete on the pro circuit and showed his quality with four wins in Crawley this week to earn a place in Bendigo.
