@t= TEHRAN – Russian Iranologists Arseniy Vydrin and Natalia Chalisova have paid a visit to the Sadi Foundation, a Tehran-based institute that promotes the Persian language abroad. The scholars also held a meeting with the director of the foundation, Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, to discuss ways of expanding cultural relations, the foundation announced in a press release on Saturday.
“Due to the fact that there has been traditionally a strong desire for Iranology in Russia, the scholars in the field can refer to the Sadi Foundation to receive education on the Persian language,” Haddad-Adel said.
Vydrin is a researcher at the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg, and Chalisova is a professor of Persian literature at the Russian State University for Humanities in Moscow. The two arrived in Tehran on Tuesday to visit Iran in a weeklong program.
The Russian Iranologists’ trip has been organized by the Iranian Embassy in Moscow to observe the achievements of scholars in Iranian studies.
The all-expenses-paid trip to Iran was initiated by Iran during a large meeting of Russian Iranologists and Persian language scholars in Moscow in December 2014.
The trip program is awarded every year to Russian scholars with outstanding achievements in Persian studies.
