TEHRAN – Cultural officials of Damavand, a town located about 80 kilometers northeast of Tehran, plan to honor artist Isa Ahmadi for his lifetime achievements during a ceremony to be held on May 10.

Born in 1940 in Damavand, Ahmadi is a painter, sculptor and a set designer whose career spans over half a century. His works have been showcased at dozens of solo and group exhibits across the country.

Ahmadi has long been a source of inspiration for the local art enthusiasts in Damavand and some neighboring towns such as Rudehen.

The organizers also plan to showcase a large number of Ahmadi’s works in an exhibition on the sidelines of the event, which will be held at Damavand’s Kowsar Cultural and Artistic Complex.
