TEHRAN – Viennese cellist Matthias Bartolomey along with his compatriot, violin virtuoso Klemens Bittman, are scheduled to perform a duet at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on August 15.

Earlier in February, their performances of rock and pop jazz elements were warmly welcomed by a majority of concertgoers in Tehran during the 31st Fajr International Music Festival, the Persian service of Fars announced on Monday. 

A multi-award winning solo cellist for several years, Bartolomey enjoyed a purely classical education with Austrian maestro Nikolaus Harnoncourt. 

In contrast, Bittman, a native of Graz who specializes in classical violin, received training from French jazz violinist Didier Lockwood in Paris.
