What’s in Tehran art galleries

* Axkhaneh Shahr, Iran’s photo museum in Tehran, is showcasing photos of entrance gates in Tehran in the olden times. 

The photos collected by Kianush Motaqedi will be on view until April 9 at the museum located in Bahare Shiraz Park near Bahare Shiraz Square.

* Dena Gallery is playing host to a group exhibition of photos in memory of the Qajar-era photographer Mirza Ebrahim Khan Akkasbashi.

Photographer Hamid Jaanipur has collected the photos for the exhibit, which will run until March 19 at the gallery located at 4 Sussan Alley off Qarani St.


Calligraphy

* Calligraphy works by Milad Shams is currently underway in an exhibition at Mehre Maryam Gallery.

The exhibit entitled “Winter” will run until April 20 at the gallery that can be found at 1 Shabtab Alley off Qeitarieh Blvd. 


Multimedia 

* An exhibition of paintings and photos by a number veteran artists is currently underway at Emkan Gallery.

Works by Abbas Kiarostami, Fereidun Aav, Ali Golestaneh, Shahriar Tavakkoli, Rana Farnud and other artists will be displayed in an exhibition titled “Unfinished is Tree”.

The exhibit will run until April 19 at the gallery located at 77 Aqamohamamdi Alley, Haft-e Tir Square.

* Tehran’s Sheis Gallery is hanging a collection of paintings, calligraphic-paintings and sculptures by a group of artists.

The exhibit will continue until March 20 at the gallery located at Shirzad Alley, near Daneshju Park.

* The Museum of Drawing is hanging a collection of drawings and paintings by veteran artists, including Hossein Mahjubi, Masud Arabshahi and Hanibal Alkhas.

The exhibit will be running until April 20 at the gallery located at 9 Mohammadpur Alley, Musavi St., Ferdowsi Square.
