DAMASCUS A 150-member Iranian economic delegation, headed by Deputy Industries Minister Akbar Torkan arrived here on Monday evening for a one-week stay.
The delegation comprising of industrialists and economic experts is scheduled to take part in the 47th Damascus International Fair, said to be the biggest economic phenomenon in this country.
Some 132 industrial entities are representing Iran in the fair.
During their stay, they will meet Syrian industrialists for expertise discussions.
Iranian industrialists are displaying light and heavy vehicles, electronic and mechanical equipment, spare parts, carpets and petrochemical products.
On the sidelines of the fair, the Iranian Embassy intends to hold confabs paving the way for Iranian industrialists to exchange views with their Syrian counterparts.
Iran's pavilion in the fair is sprawling on a 3,000 squared meters plot of land.
Economic analysts maintain that Iranian industry would win a good prospect in Syrian trade markets. Economic reforms in Syria, lowering the customs duties and its willingness to expand cooperation with Asian states are among the factors that can help develop Iran-Syria economic ties.
