WMO Secretary General Arrives in Tehran

TEHRAN Secretary General of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) arrived in Tehran yesterday and was met at the airport by Deputy Minister of Roads and Transportation and head of the Iranian Meteorological Organization, Ali-Mohammad Nourian.
The WMO secretary general, who arrived here for a four-day visit, will hold talks with the Iranian officials on expansion of cooperation in meteorological areas.
Meanwhile, Iran's Minister of Industries Gholamreza Shafe'i will fly to Seoul today.
Shafe'i is expected to participate in the eighth session of Iran-South Korea Joint Commission on Economic and Technical Cooperation.
Economic relations between Iran and South Korea have been growing for the past two years, and the meeting is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations.
The trade exchange between the two countries has topped 2.5 billion dollars during the past eight months, showing an increase of 200 million dollars compared with the similar period last year.
