Discus Throwers Add Two Golds, One Silver to Iran's Tally

TEHRAN Iranian discus throwers stood first and second on the ninth day of Sydney's Paralympics event. Mohammad Sadeq Mehryar and Dariush Nam-Avar respectively won the gold and the silver in discus throwing Class F66' on Friday. Also another Iranian discus thrower, Mokhtar Nourafshan won his second medal in the Sydney's Paralympics 2000, bringing to eight Iranian team's gold medals.
Nourafshan won the medal in Class F54', recording 8.96 meters.
Iran stood 16 in the table with 16 medals including eight golds, four silvers and four bronzes. Meanwhile, taekwondo team of Iran's Army finished as second in the competitions of the World Armies Championships by scoring two golds and three bronzes. The host, South Korea stood first with six golds and one bronze.
