Leader’s representatives visit individuals disabled during 1980-88 war, recent riots
TEHRAN - Over a dozen delegations representing Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei have visited disabled war veterans who sustained injuries during the eight-year Iraqi war on Iran in the 1980s.
The Leader’s representatives, comprising 13 teams, called on the war veterans in their homes on January 24, marking National Disabled War Veterans’ Day.
Some of the teams also went to hospitals to pay homage to individuals who sustained disabilities during the current month’s riots and acts of terror in the country.
The Leader’s representatives talked to the victims and got a first-hand account of their problems and living conditions, paying tribute to their sacrifices.
Also, the Leader’s representatives in different provinces across the nation visited a number of disabled war veterans in their homes.
Recently, the enemies of the Islamic Republic provoked riots in the country through their trained operatives and mercenaries. The armed rioters vandalized public property and triggered terror that led to the death of over 2400 security forces and ordinary citizens, mostly on January 8-9. In fact, the rioters hijacked peaceful protests.
The protests first began on December 28, 2025, over the depreciation of the national currency, market instability, and price rises. The protests spread to other parts of Tehran as well as some other cities. The protestors were mostly complaining about price rises, which have been mainly caused by the Trump administration’s maximum pressure policy, which began during his administration.
To tackle the unrest, Iranian security forces immediately went into action and firmly dealt with rioters and foreign-backed insurgents, making numerous arrests.
Security forces also seized various types of lethal weapons intended for use against civilians and government facilities.
The operatives had been tasked by foreign spy agencies and hostile groups to carry out targeted assassinations of elite figures, stir ethnic divisions, and sabotage vital infrastructure such as water, electricity, gas, and oil pipelines.
Many analysts, as well as Iranian authorities, are of the conviction that the terrorist acts and riots were, in fact, the continuation of the 12-day US-Israeli war against Iran back in June 2025.
Iranian officials have said, time and again, that the Us and the Israeli regime orchestrated the unrest in revenge for the failure they suffered during the 12-day war.
