“Great Stories by Nobel Prize Winners” published in Persian

TEHRAN – The Persian translation of the book “Great Stories by Nobel Prize Winners” edited by Leo Hamalian and Edmond L. Volpe has been released in the bookstores across the country.

Translated by Minoo Arjmandi and Babak Ata, the book has been brought out by Moein Publications in 459 pages, Mehr reported.

The book gathers short stories by Nobel laureates, inviting readers into the luminous world of world literature.

The collection brings together a diverse slate of tales from authors celebrated with the prize. The stories span continents, eras, and voices, offering intimate character sketches, sharp moral questions, and moments of quiet wonder.

The writing is approachable but artful, with clear, evocative prose that invites readers to linger. Each story stands alone, making the volume ideal for reading in small sessions on a commute or between tasks.

The anthology reflects the prestige of the Nobel Prize in Literature by featuring stories that explore universal human experiences, often with psychological insight and narrative craftsmanship. The book contains 26 short stories including “The Man Who Was” written by Rudyard Kipling, “The Massacre of the Innocents” by Maurice Maeterlinck, “Saved” by Sir Rabindranath Tagore, “The Procurator of Judea” by Anatole France, “The Crucifixion of the Outcast” William Butler Yeats, “The Miraculous Revenge” by George Bernard Shaw, “Little Lizzy” by Thomas Mann, “War” by Luigi Pirandello, “Within and Without” by Hermann Hesse, “That Evening Sun” by William Faulkner, and “The Guest” by Albert Camus among others.
