TEHRAN Former labor minister and government spokesman Ahmad Tavakkoli has expressed intention to compete in the upcoming presidential election.

Tavakkoli will nominate himself as an independent candidate.

Tavakkoli once competed with former president Hojjatoleslam Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, but lost the presidential race, despite doing relatively well, particularly in the western Province of Kurdestan.
