STOCKHOLM Swedish telecommunications corporation Ericsson, citing heavy losses in the mobile phone sector, is to cut 10,000 jobs, the company said Friday.

Ericsson said its first-quarter loss in the mobile phone sector was 5.7 billion kronor (565 million dollars).

Pretax earnings were given as 600 million crowns, chiefly from sales of holdings.
