Sharon, a War Criminal Forever

June 21, 2001 - 0:0
A number of survivors of the heinous massacre committed by the Zionist regime in the Palestinian Sabra and Shatila camps in 1982 have filed a complaint with a court in Belgium against Zionist Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as a war criminal.

The complaint has been lodged at a time when Belgium is going to take over the rotating presidency of the European Union (EU) on July 1. The cruel carnage of Palestinian refugees in Sabra and Shatila camps in Lebanon was ordered by Ariel Sharon, who was defense minister of the Zionist regime in 1982. Some 2,000 innocent Palestinians, including men, women and children, were killed in this cold-blooded massacre. The Zionist forces displayed so much brutality that they did not even spare the cats, dogs and birds in these camps.

One of the survivors of the massacre, Soad Soror al-Marary, who is paralyzed in both legs, has said she lost the power in her legs because of the atrocities of the Zionist forces.

She spoke to reporters in Brussels about the atrocious crimes committed by the Zionist forces in these two refugee camps, saying that all her family members were killed before her eyes.

The fact is that a court in the Zionist regime that tried Sharon for the massacre in a closed-door session in 1982 found him guilty of the charges and forced him to resign from his position as defense minister. Hence, what is now attracting the attention of international observers is the policy of double stand adopted by the United States in dealing with various international issues.

In other words, while the U.S. a few months ago issued a warrant for the arrest of former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic as a war criminal, the White House has been fully supporting Sharon, whose war crimes have been proven in court, as prime minister of the Zionist entity instead of issuing a warrant for his arrest and making him pay for his crimes.

What is important is the attitude of the world public, who still consider Sharon a war criminal two decades after the massacre of innocent Palestinians in Sabra and Shatila camps. In other words, the U.S. support for Sharon, a war criminal called "the butcher of Lebanon", has failed to restore his image in the eyes of the world public.
