Prejudiced Attitude of West Toward Muslim Community
According to some reports, Germany is now following in the footsteps of France and Italy in depriving headscarved Muslim women of their social rights because of their observing Hijab, or Islamic dress code.
The German weekly *** Der Spiegel *** in its latest edition wrote that a headscarved Muslim woman named Salimeh was denied employment by a hospital in Frankfurt only because of her Islamic dress, although she was qualified for the job. Thus, Salimeh was deprived of her fundamental social rights only because of her religious conviction.
During the previous week, another Muslim woman, Fereshteh Loudin, was denied a job as a teacher, and the Supreme Court of the German state of Baden-Wurttemberg rejected her appeal on the grounds of religious impartiality. But religious impartiality means that the government organs should not oppose Islamic dress, and that any Muslim, like Christians or Jews, should be free to openly practice his religion without any fears.
The question is, if a Jew attends his place of work wearing a yarmulke, would similar measures be taken against him? The fact is that because of the numerous concessions granted to the Jewish community by the Western governments, no government organ dares to impose any restrictions on the Jews. And if they take such measures, they will be accused of being anti-Semitic.
