BOGOR, Indonesia -- Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid, weeks away from almost certain impeachment, on Monday gave his enemies until July 20 to back off efforts to oust him or he would declare a state of emergency. Wahid told reporters plans for the top legislature to meet in August to consider impeaching him were illegal and a threat to the nation. "If that happens, that means the nation will be in danger and Parliament will be frozen and elections will be brought forward," he said after a failed attempt to bring political leaders together at a presidential palace in this hill town just south of Jakarta.
