Traces of "Jam-e Jahan Namay-e Jamshid" Discovered
Abbasi Samali told IRNA that the initial studies in Jam district that have been carried out with participation of an Englishman with Iranian origin about the historical events in Iran narrated in Avesta (the Zoroastrians holy book), indicate the traces of the era of Jamshid-e Jam Kingdom in this region.
The researches show that in the mountains overlooking Jam district, great polished walls in several points with special angles exist that the lore of the Jam call them "Charm Ayeneh" (leather mirrors) in their local dialect, he added.
He said that according to the old people of Jam district, they used to find little pieces of black glass under these "Charm Ayenehs" that strengthens this hypothesis.
The manager of Cultural Heritage of Bushehr Province reminded that in the studies carried out by this researcher and Bushehr's cultural heritage specialists, there is a mountain there called "Padari" in the local dialect which is pardis or paradise that had been the residence of Jam and beginning of his kingdom according to Avesta.
He said that access to many items of Sasanid era such as castles, defensive walls and communicating roads in Jam district all tell tales of the traces of Jam-e Jahan Nama.
In view of the significance of these discoveries upon coordination with Cultural Heritage Organization, the primary study plan with the credit of 25 million rials would commence on October 23, 2001 by the specialists and the archaeology team of this organization, he added.
Manager of Bushehr Province Cultural Heritage Organization also reminded that in these studies the symbol discovered in "Padari" mountain (paradise) that had probably been the residence of Jamshid would undergo scrutiny and painstaking studies and research.
