BRUSSELS -- Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Employment Laurette Onkelinx embarks on a tour of Afghanistan and Iran on Sunday.

Onkelinx will go to Tehran from Kabul on Tuesday for talks with her Iranian counterpart Hossein Kamali, the Belgian minister's spokesperson Saar Vanderplatesen told IRNA Friday.

She will also meet women deputies in the Iranian Majlis as well as representatives of women organizations during her two-day official visit to Iran.

Further, the Belgian minister will visit some projects in Iran as well as refugee camps for Afghan women inside Iran.

It will be the second visit by a Belgian minister to the Islamic Republic within a month, a sign of growing bilateral ties between Brussels and Tehran.

Belgian Foreign Minister Louis Michel paid a two-day official visit to Iran on 11 May.
