BERLIN -- Silent screen giant Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau will be the focus of the 53rd Berlin Film Festival's retrospective tribute, fest organizers announced Friday.
Digitally restored copies of some of the German director's greatest films will be screened, among them, "Faust", "Sunrise", "The Last Man", "Nosferatu" and "Tubu", said festival Director Dieter Kosslick, DPA said. The festival runs next February 5-16.
Murnau, who emigrated to Hollywood in 1926, died at the pinnacle of his career in a car crash in March 1931.
