TEHRAN -- Scientific research has been started on the historical structure of Za'faranieh Village in Sabzevar, Khorasan Province.

Located at 35km east of Sabzevar along the main road of Tehran-Mashhad, the village is considered to be one of the most precious historical sites in the province.

Za'faranieh Village is home to a large and magnificent caravansary, refrigerator, castle, and storeroom. It used to be alongside the "Silk Road," but at the moment it is stretched along the Asian road.

The village will soon be renovated by the archaeologists at the Cultural Heritage Organization (CHO), and as a result, is expected to become one of the principal tourist attractions in the region.

About 440 historical and archaeological sites have so far been discovered and listed in Sabzevar.
