Over 15,000 Vehicles Transited Via Bandar Abbas

BANDAR ABBAS, Hormozgan Prov. -- Head of Bandar Abbas Shahid Bahonar Customs Department Gholamhossein Akhgar said here on Wednesday, 15,042 vehicles have been transited to other countries through the provincial Customs Office over the eight-month period starting March 21.

He added, "Over the same period, 129,372 tons of goods worth Rls. 2.99 trillion were transited via Shahid Bahonar Customs Office to foreign countries."

Akhgar said, the transited goods including vehicles, tire, sugar, motor oil and cooking oil were destined towards Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

According to him, 459 tons of goods worth Rls.

40.31 billion were meanwhile transited via Shahid Bahonar Customs Office into the country.

"Meanwhile, 939,366 tons of goods worth Rls.

823.47 billion were exported via Bandar Abbas Customs Office, which overvalued that of similar period last year by 301 percent," he added.

The customs official said that the exported goods mainly consisted of shrimp, vegetable, fruit, dates, raisin, cumin, rose water, beverage, chemicals and minerals destined to Bangladesh, India, Kuwait, Pakistan and Ukraine.

He put the proceeds from Shahid Bahonar Customs Office at Rls. 29.36 billion, IRNA reported.
