BERLIN-- A top aide to deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein Surrendered voluntarily to American military forces in Baghdad, the German public television station ZDF said on Saturday.

General Amir al-Saadi who was placed on a U.S.-circulated list of the top 50 most wanted Iraqi leaders, was accompanied by a German television crew on his way to the American military headquarters, IRNA reported.

Al-Saadi whose wife is German, is reportedly the first among Iraq's former leadership to surrender voluntarily to U.S. forces.

Of the 50 -- what one American official described as 'the worst of the worst' -- only three have been killed and none have been captured.
