TEHRAN -- Export Development Bank of Iran is to extend a 10 million euros credit to Uzbekistan to help it finance servicing, technical and engineering projects.

Announcing this, the Public Relations Department at Export Development Bank of Iran (EDBI) on Wednesday quoted the head of the bank, Norouz Kahzadi as saying that his bank will under an agreement, signed with Uzbek National Bank, disburse the fund within framework of purchaser's credit, which will be guaranteed by the Export Guarantee Fund of Iran.

Kahzadi said the Uzbek party is expected to spend the fund on an array of projects, including establishment of a water purification center and a water supply network in Nukuz and Karakalpakestan.

He said extension of such credits to recipient countries would help expand export of Iranian goods and technical and engineering services to those states.
