Iran, Macedonia Review Expansion of Ties
According to the Cultural Bureau and Public Relations Department of Majlis, at the meeting, Mirdamadi expressed satisfaction with the growing trend in mutual relations and underlined Iran's readiness to broaden and bolster all-out cooperation with Macedonia, IRNA reported. "We should not limit our relations to parliamentary ties," he said adding, "We should create grounds to further involve political groups and non-governmental organizations (NGO's) as well." Expressing satisfaction over restoration of peace and stability in Macedonia, Mirdamadi said, "We hope the world not to witness war, aggression and insecurity in Balkan region any longer."
Welcoming the invitation extended to him by his Macedonian counterpart, he hoped to pay an official visit to the country at an opportune time.
The Macedonian charge d'affaires, for his part, briefed Mirdamadi on recent development in Macedonia.
Macedonian officials have voiced satisfaction over further broadening ties with Iran, he said expressing hope that through European Union membership, the grounds for political, economic and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries would be further bolstered.
