TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) – During the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 2003), Iran gained some $272 million from pistachio exports, a figure 2.5 times that of the corresponding period of last year, Public Relations of Iran’s Customs Office reported Wednesday.

It shows that, after a slight decline in the amount of pistachio exports last year, there has been a remarkable return to normality this year.

The report added that, during the half-year period, pistachio took the lead among Iran’s non-oil exports by 11 percent.
