Iran Cinema Created Innovative School: Kuwaiti Daily

TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) -- Iran’s Cinema has created an innovative school which is very different from the western cinema, Al Rai Alam a Kuwaiti Arabic newspaper said in an article on Monday. Iran’s cinema due to its capabilities has already won several great awards in international festivals, the daily said, adding, “Compared to other states, Iran’s films have some sincere messages. They are so unique that have drawn the attention of the world’s prominent cineastes and critics.”
It went on to say that after the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in 1979 great changes have taken place in the cinematic works of this country. With the establishment of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and then Farabi Cinematic Foundation, more attention was paid to the Iranian cinema.
The writer of the article named the year 2000 “The Year of Iran’s Cinema” and mentioned that the feature-length films “Taste of Cherry”, “Circle”, and “Blackboard” have received several great international awards such as Golden Leaf, Critics’ Award and Golden Lion.
