Afghanistan, Khorasan’s Biggest Commercial Partner
Iran has commercial activities with 164 countries and Khorasan’s economic deals are restricted to only six of them.
"40 percent of our foreign commercial deals allot to Afghanistan, which is consequently accounted for Khorasan’s biggest commercial partner,” he said.
Khorasan’s other commercial partners are Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan that respectively allocate 20, 15, 10, 5, and 4 percent of their total export.
“We are seeking new opportunities in Arabic countries mostly in the Persian Gulf,” the official said.
Strategic geopolitics of Khorasan brought about some special characteristics, which can facilitate export to different countries, he concluded.
In the first half of current Iranian calendar year (began in March 21, 2003) Khorasan’s rate of export reached to more than $200 million, which constituted eight percent of Iran’s total export. RN/IS END MNA
