MADRID (Reuters) -- Barcelona forward Ronaldinho will miss his side's league match against arch-rivals Real Madrid on Saturday after club doctors said he had not yet fully recovered from a recent thigh injury.

Doctors Jordi Ardevol and Lluis Til told a news conference on Monday that scans revealed the injury was healing, but they said they did not want to risk further damage by trying to rush his recovery ahead of the Real game.

They estimated that the player would not be able to return to action for at least another two weeks.

The Brazilian international, who joined Barcelona from Paris St. Germain in a deal worth up to 30 million euros ($36.06 million) at the start of the season, tore a thigh muscle in his right leg during his side's 2-1 win over Real Betis on November 9.

Barca have missed the creative skills of the 23-year-old World Cup winner and have taken just one point from their two league matches since his injury.

Defenders Carles Puyol (ankle) and Rafael Marquez (stomach bug) will be out for Wednesday's game against Malaga, but the doctors said they hoped both players would be fit for the Real Madrid match.
