TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Iran's President Mahmud Ahmadinejad on Saturday emphasized the need for serving the nation and pursuing revolutionary objectives.

"These are the prerequisites for the campaign against hegemony that has turned into a global movement today," he added in a meeting with Venezuelan Parliament Speaker, Nicholas Madoro, on the sidelines of The Third International Qods Conference.

Ahmadinejad further stressed that it is the joint mission of all independent nations and governments, particularly that of Iran and Venezuela, to fight against foreign hegemony and to observe resistance in the face of hegemonic tendencies. He referred to the Islamic Republic of Iran's scientific achievements in its peaceful nuclear program, stressing, "Any scientific, economic, or political advancement of the world’s free nations is a severe blow against the global oppressive powers and the neo-colonialists."

Ahmadinejad said that by relying on unity, resistance, and awareness, free nations can face the world’s seeming powers with a final defeat in the near future.

The Venezuelan Parliament Speaker, for his part, referred to his country's strong and strategic ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran and conveyed the warm greeting of President Hugo Chavez to President Ahmadinejad. Madoro said, "Venezuela and other Latin American countries are eager to benefit from the Muslim Iranian nation's revolutionary experiences."

The Venezuelan Parliament Speaker added that through such acquaintance the real anti-humane face of the U.S. imperialism would be better revealed for the nations of the world.

Enemies enraged by Muslims' advancement, independence and solidarity: Ahmadinejad

In a meeting with the Sudanese Parliament Speaker Ahmad Ibrahim al-Taher on Saturday also on the sidelines of the Qods conference, President Ahmadinejad said that the Islamic world's enemies get enraged when they see the advancement, independence, and solidarity of the Muslims.

"Wherever the hearts and minds of Muslim nations get closer together the enemies try to sow the seeds of discord and that is because they favor a dependent Islamic world under their severe hegemony."

The Iranian president further emphasized, "The enemies are incessantly looking for opportunities to weaken the independence of Islamic countries and the solidarity within the Islamic world."

He proposed, "The best way for encountering their countless plots is to keep up the campaign against them and to keep on resisting."

The president repeated Iran's strong will to strengthen comprehensive ties with all Muslim governments and nations, particularly with Sudan.

The Sudanese Parliament Speaker, for his part, congratulated Iran for joining the world nuclear club, and expressed delight over attending the International Qods Conference.

He added that holding such gatherings is a very effective way for solving the problems with which the Islamic world is entangled.

Ahmad Ibrahim al-Taher also appreciated the thoughtful remarks made by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and by President Ahmadinejad at the opening session of the conference titled "Assisting the Palestinian Nation".

He said, "The Great Satan, resorting to all its facilities, including its media power, military forces, and its psychological warfare, seeks to create crises throughout the Islamic world, to weaken Islamic countries, to poison world public opinion about Muslims, to interfere in the internal affairs of Islamic countries, and to strengthen its hegemony there."
