Chavez calls on world to stop Israel’s “fascism”
“What Israel is doing is fascism and terrorism. We call on the world to stop Israel’s insanity,” he said during a ceremony at the University of Tehran in which he was awarded the Order of the Islamic Republic of Iran, First Grade.
The world must have the ability to stop Israel’s madness, he added.
He emphasized that Iran and Venezuela have adopted a common stance condemning the Israeli crimes.
“(U.S. President George W.) Bush claims that he has a connection with God every day, but, in fact, he has a connection with the devil because no other country has put humanity in danger like the United States,” he said.
If the U.S. empire maintains its domination, there will be no future for humanity, he asserted.
“The onus is on us to rescue humanity by maintaining unity,” Chavez noted.
Imperialism has gained dominance due to our lack of knowledge not because of its power, he stated. He praised Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad as a brave person, adding, “The U.S. has been trapped in the quagmire of Afghanistan and Iraq, and we will defeat it once again.”
In addition, Chavez called the honorary medal Iran bestowed upon him a symbol of friendship and solidarity between Iran and Venezuela.
He stressed that his country would stand beside Iran under any circumstances and described Iran as the land of divine prophets and fighters.
Chavez and a high-ranking Venezuelan delegation arrived in Tehran on Saturday afternoon for a two-day visit.
