Iran, Georgia to expand inter-parliamentary ties

BAKU (IRNA) -- Iranian Ambassador to Tbilisi Mojtaba Damirchi and head of Iran-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group Zora Davitashvili in a meeting on Tuesday reviewed bilateral parliamentary relations.

For his part, Damirchi urged the need for making optimum use of the capacities of both sides in the growing trend of bilateral relations.

At the meeting, Davitashvili referred to historical commonalties between the two countries and called for expansion of ties in all economic, cultural and political fields.

Both sides reiterated the need to broaden inter-parliamentary bonds and its role in strengthening the ties between Iran and Georgia.
