“Uzbekistan – the pearl of the Islamic world” screened at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Iran.
The short documentary film demonstrates the revival of Islamic values and architectural monuments in Uzbekistan after gaining the independence and tells about the activity of the Tashkent Islamic University, which was established under the auspicious attention of the President of Uzbekistan I.A. Karimov, and also about initiatives of the government of this country on preservation and strengthening of Islamic values.
After the film was shown the guests discussed various aspects of the film.
Akramov,the ammbassdor of Uzbekistan in Tehran noted that following the establishment of independence in Uzbekistan the attitude to the past, to a rich historical heritage, cultural wealth and traditions has changed fundamentally.
He described about anniversaries of outstanding scientific thinkers of our native land as Ahmad Fargani, Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, Bahauddin Nakshband, which carried out or planned to celebrate in Uzbekistan. He has emphasized, that Uzbekistan is the native land of outstanding scientific scholar Mahmud Az-Zamahshari who first-ever has made grammar of the Arabic Language.
During the event the Ambassador of the State of Qatar Ibrahim Al-Kuwati and Vice-President of ECO Cultural Institute Ali Sabzalian also had a speech, who emphasized on the role of Uzbekistan in the Islamic civilization. They highly appreciated the course, spent by the leadership of the Republic of Uzbekistan towards the rehabilitation of historical monuments and revival of Islamic values.
