TEHRAN - President Mahmud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that some great powers are opposing the “progress of Iran.”

“Today, the enemies of humanity are envying and opposing the progress of Iran, and the United States and some other great powers want to monopolize science, technology, the world’s resources, and also political and cultural opportunities in order to dominate other nations,” the president told well-wisher in Dalahu, Kermanshah Province. “The great powers imposed war against us in order to prevent our progress, and today they are trying to block the development of Iran in different sciences under the pretext of nuclear energy because they know the development of Iran means a move by all nations and a consequent abolishment of oppression and injustice by corrupt powers in the entire world.”
