TEHRAN -- Iranian children’s books were welcomed at the 14th Taipei International Book Exhibition, which was held from January 30 to February 4, the managing director of Shabaviz Publications told the Mehr News Agency on Saturday.
“Some of the books, like ‘Pearl Fish’, had been published in the early 1980s and were far from modern standards of printed materials, but the Chinese people still liked them,” Farideh Khalatbari added.
“The Chinese believe in our books because they trust reliable texts and like the attractive illustrations of Iranian books. They make use of other nations’ cultures when they have something to say,” she explained.
“Chinese and Hong Kong publishers asked many questions about Iranian culture. I saw that they are interested in Iranian literature and art,” she added.
