TEHRAN – Executive operations of power plant for South Pars phases 6-8 have progressed more than 95 percent, Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) reported Tuesday.

The power plant including four 44MW gas turbines will generate 176MW electricity needed by the three phases.

Construction of the power plant kicked off in January 2005 by Petropars Company and its first unit is to start work in two months.

The project has created 250 direct and 150 indirect jobs and is to produce 104 million cu. m. of sour gas and 158,000 barrels of gas condensates per day and 1.6 million tons of propane and butane per year.
