TEHRAN -- Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said on Saturday that Iran has always expressed its opposition to internal strife which is against the cause of Palestine and will call on various groups to unite over Palestinian national goals and principles.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran expresses, once again, its serious concern over the recent bloody conflicts in Palestine which have led to the death and injury of tens of Palestinians,” the spokesman said.

“Inviting Palestinian groups to settle their disputes through dialogue and avoid any internal strife, the Islamic Republic of Iran declares that it is ready to offer any help in this regard,” Hosseini stated.

He voiced Iran’s belief that the Palestinian groups should respect the electoral procedure and its democratic results and strive to fully restore the rights of the Palestinian people by fighting the Zionist enemy to liberate the occupied lands.

Hosseini said Iran strictly follows the developments in Gaza Strip with special care.

He added that Iran has put consultations with various Islamic and Arab parties including Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia on its agenda and hopes that such consultations between Muslim countries would prove fruitful for the Palestinian nation.
