DEHLORAN, Ilam Prov. (IRNA) -- A mine explosion in provincial border city of Dehloran killed two and injured four others on Wednesday, said governor of the provincial city of Dehloran, Nematollah Safari on Wednesday.

Safari told IRNA, ""Explosion of mines and explosives, left over from the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war, killed two and wounded four others."" He said the injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment immediately after the incident. Some 1,700,000 hectares of lands on border regions of Ilam Province were mined during the Iraqi-imposed war. More than 1,300,000 hectares of the lands have thus far been cleansed from mines and explosives
