Iran set to produce 150 tons of saffron this year

TEHRAN – A saffron industry official predicted on Sunday that 150 tons of saffron will be produced in the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2007).

Talking to MNA, Mohammad-Hossein Moshkani added that last year’s saffron output was about 120 tons. He said that saffron market has somehow improved in the past days, adding the price is $1,564 per kilo
