Iran enters 27 films at Bogotá Film Festival

TEHRAN -- Iran is entering 27 movies at this year’s 24th Bogotá Film Festival. The event runs from October 3 until 11.

“The Agonies of the Maiden” by Masud Atyabi and “Adam” by Abdorreza Kahani are to compete in the competition section of the festival.
Ebrahim Hatamikia’s “In the Name of Father”, Mojtaba Raei’s “Journey to Hidalo” and Vahid Musaian’s “Earring” are entering the non-competition section.
“Ascension” by Kiumars Derambakhsh, “Noruz” by Jamshid Khoshdel, “Melikan” by Minu Kiani, and “Birth” by Hoda Karami are among the other Iranian films to be screened in different sections of the event.
Filmmaker Reza Mirkarimi is among the jury members of the festival’s international section.
Deputy Culture Minister for Cinematic Affairs Mohammadreza Jafari-Jelveh is to travel to Columbia to meet cinematic officials and to make a speech in Bogotá about modern cinema in Iran. He is also scheduled to travel to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil in order to meet Brazil’s culture minister and discuss bilateral cooperation
